Carolin studied law at the Universität Passau, Germany, and the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, Spain. She also holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

She was admitted to the German bar in 2002 and started her professional career as Associate at Linklaters in Cologne, Germany. She practices IP law since then and became Partner at Greyhills in 2006. Carolin is advisor to major multinational corporations as well as German companies, in particular in the field of trademarks, designs, unfair competition, Internet and copyright issues. She works on strategic issues and filing matters and handles administrative proceedings as well as enforcement. She has special expertise in resolving IP disputes and is also a litigator.

Carolin is ECTA Member since 2002. She was Chair of the ECTA Harmonization Committee for many years and is currently Member of the Supervisory Board. Since 2017 she holds the position of ECTA Secretary General and is Member of the Board of Directors. Carolin is a regular speaker/moderator at meetings and conferences.

She speaks German, English, French, Spanish and Italian.
