Poonam is the IP Legal Counsel at UEFA. She is responsible for UEFA’s brand protection strategy which involves, advising the Brand and Marketing teams on the brand creation process and brand usage, managing the organisation’s trade mark portfolio and looking after UEFA’s online and onsite brand protection programme.

Poonam was previously a Legal Counsel at Chelsea Football Club and also advised the British Olympic Association on IP matters during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games. Prior to moving into the sports industry, Poonam was an IP litigation lawyer at global law firm, CMS, based in their London office. There, she worked on a number of high profile IP disputes, predominantly concerning trade marks and copyright, in the sports, TMT and consumer products sectors.
