Professional Affairs Committee
The Professional Affairs Committee has been established in order to engage with the professional matters of trade mark and design representatives, as well as GI and copyright practitioners. The Committee monitors the issues that concern the profession globally, with the emphasis on the issues effecting practitioners in Europe. The Committee focuses on well-balanced projects, conducting surveys and comparative studies, resulting in position papers and recommendations. It aims to establish a functional, high-quality and ethical copyright, GI, trade mark and design system within the European Union that can serve as an inspiration globally. The Committee aims at introducing and combining the best elements available from various legal and IP systems, through an imaginative, comparative and pragmatic approach, thus contributing to continuously raising the level of professional legal practice in intellectual property matters throughout Europe.
The Mission of the Professional Affairs Committee is to generate, maintain and promote quality standards, ethic rules, recommendations and be a communication forum for the members of ECTA and other EU professionals. PAC strives to provide consistently excellent information, guidelines and related services to the members of ECTA for the recognition of qualified trade mark and design representatives, as well as GI and copyright practitioners in Europe.
