Today, the EUIPO Observatory in collaboration with the Community Plant Varity Office (CPVO) released a study on the Impact of the Community Plant Variety Rights system on the EU economy and the environment.

This document quantifies the economic contribution in the EU of the CPVR system, considering specific aspects of agriculture and horticulture, such as the contribution of the system to the global competitiveness of EU farmers and growers. Besides, it also quantifies the benefits to the environment and sustainability derived from the system.
