After the welcome addresses by ECTA President, Sozos-Christos Theodoulou, and Leonidas Paschalides, Deputy Secretary General of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attendees of the Workshop heard presentations from Tomás Lorenzo Eichenberg, Principal Administrator, Unit F5 Intellectual Property and Fight against Counterfeiting, DG GROWTH, European Commission (Belgium), Marie-Christine Seiler, Secretary of the ECTA Harmonization Committee, Attorney at Law, Junior Partner, Müller Schupfner & Partner (Germany) and Stalo Papaioannou, Senior Officer, Head of IP Section, Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism (Cyprus). Anette Rasmussen, ECTA First Vice-President moderated the discussion.


The second part of the Workshop was dedicated to another interesting subject, namely Plain Packaging and recent developments and practical consequences for the industry. Cheng Foong Tan, Head of Trade Marks, Innovate Legal (UK) and Marianne Grabrucker, Former Presiding Judge at the Federal Patent Court of Germany, President Circle of European Trademark Judges (Germany) discussed this topic in detail and answered questions from the audience. Mladen Vukmir, ECTA Second Vice-President, moderated the discussion.
