Since we have not been able to meet in person for the Annual Conference in Copenhagen due to the current difficult circumstances related to the pandemic, ECTA has decided to move into an online environment, where possible.

Starting from 9 to 19 June, several virtual meetings are held. During this period, ECTA provided two learning sessions, originally scheduled for the Annual Conference in Copenhagen, in a Webinar format and on the following IP topics:

- Powering up. Using new technologies in the IP environment (9 June 2020)

- Parallel Imports: How important is a trade mark? A limitless sea? Pharma perspective (11 June 2020)

Many participants, both members and non-members, attended our Webinars and gave us positive feedback on the overall experience.

Very important meetings are taking place, namely Management Committee Meeting, meetings of all ECTA Committees and Task Forces, as well as the Council/Board meeting on 17 June, where the Presidency changeover and Management Committee rotation are taking place.

On 18 June, the first ever online AGM meetings of both, the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) (which is winding down) and ECTA AISBL (the successor Association based in Belgium) are scheduled.

We want to thank our Council/Board, Committees and members for their flexibility and continuous support of our Association, as well as our Webinars’ distinguished speakers for agreeing to provide our attendees with their valuable insights.

At the same time, we would also like to apologize with those non-EU members, who will not be able to attend our virtual meetings due to the time schedule. We have tried to accommodate all time zones to allow as many members as possible from all countries around the world to attend, however, this was not possible for all meetings. We feel very sorry for this and hope to see you all in person again soon.

Last but not least, this year ECTA is celebrating its 40th Anniversary from the date of its establishment in 1980! In order to celebrate and congratulate all of you with ECTA achievements over these years and bring our ECTA family even closer together, we have sent all ECTA members a surprise! So please check your post box regularly!
