In consequence of the measures taken against
COVID-19 outbreak, WIPO is aware that
users might be affected by possible disruptions.
WIPO reminds users about
remedies and extension of time limits under the Hague (
Information Notice No. 5/2020)
and Madrid Systems (
Information Notice No. 7/2020). The documents explain the remedies available against a failure to meet a time limit for a communication addressed to WIPO or in case of closure of the IP Office of a contracting party, as well as measures against possible disruptions in mail or delivery services and further advices to applicants and holders.
WIPO also released the
Information Notice NO. 12/2020 on the Madrid Protocol, International Registration of Marks. The Information Notice regards the temporary measures concerning
certified documents and extracts services.
ECTA addressed a request to this end to the WIPO two weeks ago (as well as to EUIPO and EPO).
