As a result of the spread of COVID-19, declared as a pandemic by WHO, the EUIPO Executive Director issued Decision No EX-20-4 of today, that further extends all time limits, expiring between 1 May 2020 and 17 May 2020, to 18 May 2020.

This is the second extension and follows the Decision No EX-20-3, released on 16 March 2020, that extended until 1 May 2020 all time limits expiring between 9 March 2020 and 30 April 2020.

The extension covers all procedural deadlines with an automatic effect, both those set by the Office or directly stipulated in the Regulations.

In order to get further guidance on Decision No EX-20-4, EUIPO has prepared an Information Note about the time limits affected by the extension, the nature of the extension, the communications sent to users and the impact on current accounts.
