The EUIPO Observatory has just presented the following studies:

1. Economic performance of IPR indicators: September 2021 update

In May 2021 the EUIPO published ‘The economic impact of COVID-19 crisis in IPR-intensive industries’ with data until December 2020, including indicators for IPR, trade marks, designs, patents and copyright.

Today, the Observatory presented the update for the third quarter of 2021.

2. Online Copyright Infringement in the EU: Music, Films and TV (2017-2020), Trends and Drivers

In this report the EUIPO examines the consumption of copyright-infringing content in the EU Member States and UK for TV programmes, music, and film between January 2017 and December 2020. The main conclusion is that digital piracy is declining and that differences among the Member States can be explained by socio-economic factors and awareness of legal offers among consumers.
