EUIPO Trade Mark and Design Education Programme Second Edition
17/09/2019
In September 2018 the EUIPO has launched the EUIPO Trade Mark and Design Education Programme (ETMD EP) and on 9 September 2019 it started its second edition with the participation of 70 IP practitioners from 26 EEA Member States.

The purpose of the Education Programme is to increase the knowledge of the legal framework of the EU trade marks and designs, in particular the proceedings and practices before the EUIPO. The programme comprises 24 modules all together and the training is delivered both through face-to-face sessions and via e-learning.

ECTA is actively involved in the Education Programme and doing its best to assure relevance of its content and success. The Programme is overseen by the Executive Director of the EUIPO, a Steering Committee and an Examination Board. In the Steering Committee ECTA is represented by Judit Lantos, who can be said to be one of the initiators of the Programme. Max Oker-Blom, past Secretary General, past President and Honorary Member of ECTA, is a member of the Examination Board. Also, ECTA designated some of its members, leading IP professionals, to teach on this Programme.
