Today WIPO unveiled
WIPO PROOF, its newest online service that
helps innovators and creators safeguard the outputs of their work at every step of development, from the concept to the commercialization.
WIPO PROOF is an easy-to-use digital tool that rapidly produces
tamper-proof evidence that a digital file existed at a given moment, and that it has not been altered since then. Whether trade secrets, research results, artificial intelligence algorithms, a new textile pattern, or any other creative output, this tool generates a secure digital fingerprint of the intellectual asset, called WIPO PROOF token. This may be used as evidence to determine prior existence and possession and will help in
preventing misappropriation and misuse, as well as resolving future legal disputes.
WIPO General Director
Francis Gurry addressed WIPO PROOF relevance in today’s increasingly digitized world: "
In a highly dynamic global economy where value is increasingly based on human activity enabled by digital technologies and big data, it is critical to be able to prove that you were in possession of your intellectual asset's digital files. WIPO PROOF helps innovators and creators better protect their digital outputs and represents a significant step in expanding WIPO’s suite of services that meet the demands of the digital economy."
In occasion of today’s launch, WIPO gives the possibility to test WIPO PROOF and offers users three complimentary tokens, valid until 15 June 2020. To benefit from this
