Global Director of Innovation, Galp, PT
Ana Casaca is an innovation and energy transition executive with over 20 years of experience across science, industry and public policy. She serves on the European Innovation Council Board, advising the European Commission on Europe’s innovation, deep tech investment, and scaling strategy.
A Fulbright scholar in San Francisco early in her career, Ana began as a researcher before moving into industry, where she has built and led innovation ecosystems connecting corporates, startups, academia, and policymakers. Her work focuses on scaling technology portfolios, corporate venture platforms and digital innovation across energy, sustainability, and deep tech.
Ana is currently Director of Innovation at Galp, where she leads multidisciplinary teams across international operations and delivers industrial scale innovation that accelerates the energy transition, strengthens energy security, and supports more competitive, resilient energy systems.
She holds a degree in Microbiology from the Portuguese Catholic University and an MBA from Porto Business School, where she is an Invited Professor. She is also an Invited Associate Professor at ISEG and has completed the International Directors Programme at INSEAD.
