Member of the ECTA Geographical Indications and EUIPO-Link Committees, University of Leeds, UK
Andrea Zappalaglio is Associate Professor in Intellectual Property Law at the University of Leeds, having previously worked in Sheffield, Munich and Milan.
After conducting research on the interrelations between International Trade and Intellectual Property, he focused on quality and origin labels, becoming internationally recognised as an expert in the Law of Geographical Indications and Special Marks. In this field, he has cooperated with the European Commission, the EUIPO, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and other public and private stakeholders. His scholarship is featured in all the top UK and EU IP Reviews and he won the ECTA Award twice. He hold a PhD from the University of Oxford.
