Dr Andrea Zappalaglio is Lecturer in Intellectual Property Law at the University of Sheffield and Affiliated Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition (Munich), where he coordinated the Research Team on Geographical Indications. His scholarship is award winning - including the ECTA Award 2020, 1st Prize - and published in all the major IP Journals. He advises private and public stakeholders, including the EU Commission, on GI-related matters. In 2021 he published the book ’The Transformation of EU Geographical Indications Law’.
