Senior Lecturer in IP and Civil Law, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, ES
Gemma Minero is senior lecturer in Civil Law at the School of Law of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Her research is focused on databases and software protection, as well as other intellectual property rights. Since 2011, she is the academic coordinator of the LLM in Intellectual Property Law programme of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She is part of the board of directors of the Intellectual property Research Centre of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and board member of the Spanish Intellectual Property Commission. She is subdirector of the PhD School at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
She has been visiting scholar in the Centre for Commercial Law Studies of the Queen Mary University of London and the Max-Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition (Munich, Germany) during her PhD and after obtaining the PhD. Besides, she collaborates as visiting scholar with European and International universities, such as the University of Beijing, Turku University (Finland), Toulouse University, Strasbourg University and Central European University (Budapest, Hungary). She also collaborates with different Colombian and Argentinian Universities, such as Los Andes University, La Sabana University and Austral university.
She has published two books and more than a hundred chapters and papers on intellectual property rights, image rights, new technologies and general civil Law. Since 2018 she coordinates the WIPO Academy distance learning courses on software licensing.
