Michal is a partner of Havlík Švorčík and Partners, Law and Patent Office, in Prague, Czechia. He joined the firm in 2000 after completing his law studies at Charles University, Prague and Cardiff Law School. He is a member of the Czech and Slovak Bar Associations and the Czech Chamber of Patent Attorneys.

Michal represents clients in prosecution as well as in court litigation concerning trademarks, designs, patents, copyright and unfair competition. Anti-counterfeiting and domain name matters are important parts of his practice as he serves as a panelist for the .eu and .cz domain name disputes with the Czech Arbitration Court and WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.

Michal is the author of the Czech chapters of the Kluwer Manual of Industrial Property and he currently acts as the president of the Czech national group of AIPPI.
