Chairperson of the 4th Board of Appeal, EUIPO, ES
Nina Korjus has a distinguished career in European law, culminating in her current role as the chairperson of the Fourth Board of Appeal of the EUIPO since January 2022. Prior to this, she served as a member of the Boards from February 2021. Before over a decade of experience as a judge, including a 1,5-year tenure as the head of department at the Finnish Market Court, Nina also held the position of référendaire at the General Court of the EU for 8,5 years. In both courts she dealt with complex cases related to, e.g., competition law and trade marks. Before that, she worked at the European Law Unit of the Finnish Ministry of Justice for four years, lastly as a counsellor of legislation, providing expert advice to government officials on matters related to European law. Nina holds a Master's degree in European Community Law from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium), which she completed in 2001. She graduated from the law faculty of Turku University (Finland) in 1997. She has also contributed to the field through several published articles on trade marks and competition law.
