Özgül manages the IP rights of Yıldız Holding across more than 130 countries, which includes companies such as Ülker, GODIVA, United Biscuits, and DeMet's.

She obtained a bachelor’s degree in physics from Middle East Technical University. Özgül began her career as an outside Patent and Trademark Attorney in 2009 and has over 10 years of in-house experience managing global IP portfolios. As a Global Trade Mark and Patent Manager, alongside her roles as a trade mark and patent attorney and physicist, she co-ordinates and oversees IP matters, she evaluates and prosecutes foreign and domestic patent, trade mark, and design applications. Furthermore, Özgül is a Member of the INTA The Trademark Reporter Committee.
