Sara Ashby
Sara is Head of IP at Wiggin. Her practice covers disputes and strategic advice, and includes over 20 years’ experience of parallel import litigation, including acting for pharma originators in the long running Boehringer Ingelheim v Dowelhurst and Swingward litigation, which included two references to the CJEU.  

Sara is President of AIPPI UK and very active in IP NGOs. She is on the IP ‘Expert Trade Advisory Group’ to the UK Government during its FTA negotiations post-Brexit, and was an assessor to Lord Justice Jackson in his review of ‘fixed costs’, a contentious area of law reform.

Sara is a Visiting Lecturer, teaching IP litigation and examining on designs law, on Oxford University’s Post Graduate Diploma in IP Law and Practice, a qualification obtained by most junior IP solicitors in the UK, and is involved in the management of the course. She is a Fellow of the Oxford Intellectual Property Research Centre.
