Srdan Simac
Judge of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia, and President of the Croatian Mediation Association

Srđan Šimac, Ph.D., is a judge and former President of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia; President of Croatian Mediation Association; mediation pioneer and among founders of court mediation programs. He is a judge-mediator, a mediator in domestic and international business disputes, and arbiter at the Permanent Arbitration Court at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.

He is a mediation trainer (CEDR accredited), lecturer, speaker, and mediation promoter nationally and internationally. He is also an author of many articles on mediation and thesis “Mediation as a Generator of Change in Judicial System and Legal Profession.”

He has mediated more than 450 mediations. He is related to several international organizations, GEMME (Judges for Mediation), CEDR, JAMS, Weinstein International Foundation (WIF), and FSRI. He made a JAMS International Weinstein Fellow in 2010. He is an international mediation expert for EBRD, CEDR, IDLO, and EJTN trainer for EU judges.

He is a member of mediation panels in Washington (ICSID), London (CEDR, and Prime Dispute), Vienna (VIAC), Rome (JAMS International), Moscow, and Belgrade. He is carrier of the CEDR Award 2012 winner for ADR and Civil Justice Innovation, Croatian Mediation Association Award 2013, and Slovenian Association of Mediators Award 2016, and 2021. He is a judge of the National Mediation Award (NMA; Great Britain; 2020, and 2022). Srđan is at the international directory Who’s Who Legal Commercial Mediation 2011-2021. He lives mediation every day.
